Recently, pupils from Year 8 to Year 11 visited Magdalene College, part of the University of Cambridge. A 6am start ensured staff and pupils arrived in plenty of time to take in their surroundings. On arrival, the group were greeted by tutors and students and given a tour of Magdalene College and its various buildings. Pupils were then treated to a mini lecture on the theme of 'alcohol through the ages' which was very interesting and funny.
Following lunch, two of Magdalene College's students then offered to take us on a tour of Cambridge city centre itself. The group spent two hours walking around learning about the history of different colleges, watching people punt along the River Cam and trying to avoid getting in the way of the cyclists! A great day was had by all and pupils were a credit to themselves, their families and Fazakerley High School.
