We didn't just dress up though...
Mrs Zeqaj's reading club relived a well loved book, Angie Thomas' THUG, by watching the recent film adaptation. We are proud to announce that students preferred the complexity of the book over the cinematic adaptation.
Students were given the opportunity to 'drop everything and read' and were treated to the spell binding opening chapter to JK Rowling's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.
All students were welcome in the Library at lunch time to sit on a comfy beanbag and read, or get creative with character profiles and bookmark making - this continues this week!
On Friday, Miss Freeman and Mr Hayes took students to Waterstones in order to spend their World Book Day tokens. Students were a credit to the school and enjoyed browsing the bookshelves. Everyone came home with a bounty of new books - a perfect Friday treat!
