Our Read is a big annual reading campaign co-ordinated by The Reader Organisation. This year, Our Read is bigger than ever before, with more books reaching more people in many, many more places. To mark this new image, Our Read 2011 kicked-off with a very special launch event indeed. On the morning of March 3rd, The Reader Organisation travelled from Liverpool to London on a train journey with a difference.
Along with awardwinning children's author, Frank Cottrell Boyce, two of our pupils, Jonathan, Year 7 and Daniel, Year 9 journeyed from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston in a private train carriage and enjoyed the first ever public reading of the Our Read book, The Unforgotten Coat, by the author himself! This was a fantastic way to celebrate something as important as reading.
