Engineers of the Future
Ex-pupil Jack Norman recently paid school a visit and we were so pleased he did! Jack studied a variety of GCSEs as well as the higher diploma in engineering between 2008 and 2010 excelling in his studies and completing a Young Apprenticeship with Scottish Power.
At the age of 16, he was successful in gaining a pipe fitting apprenticeship with Korean owned, UK based energy company Doosan Babcock and moved to Birmingham for intensive training. He is currently based on site at the oil refinery in Stanlow and is enjoying the perks of living at home again! Jack is due to complete his training in 2013 and may then study for a degree in engineering at Sheffield University as Doosan Babcock have agreed to pay his tuition fees.
With the ever increasing demand for energy, Jack’s studies mean that he will have globally recognised qualifications and aims to work on a variety of power stations around the world. We are very proud of his achievements to date and wish him every success in his future career.
