FHS Council News

Fazakerley School Council has been very active since September.

We had Peter Mitchell, Councillor for Croxteth Ward join one of our meetings. The Council are hoping to make links with the local community and Councillor Mitchell will help us to make contact with ethnic communities in our area so that we can work together and develop pro-active relations with these groups.

In October, the Council attended a "Eurovoice event at Liverpool Town Hall. One of the panellists at this event was Edwina Currie (former Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire) and so we invited her to our school to meet with our Council.

Edwina Currie spent a whole afternoon in our school in December; we had prepared a question and answer session for the afternoon with pupils selected from Year 7 through to Year 14.

It was an extremely successful visit and Mrs Currie kept a hall full of pupils entertained and informed with stories and anecdotes from her parliamentary days with the Conservative Party and her adventures on celebrity shows such as Wife Swap and Come Dine with Me. Both staff and pupils found her talk both interesting and inspirational.
