New Business at FHS History
Congratulations to Year 10 Business Studies pupils who made it to phase two of the Global Enterprise Challenge. The pupils: Chantelle Morrison, Megan Stuart, Jake Summerhayes, Connor Jones, Ganna Abdullah and Ryan Tootle, had to create a business idea and submit it to the Liverpool Global Enterprise Council. Their business proposal was a school gift shop that personalises gifts to suit the customer's needs, for example, cards and calendars, which they then pitched to a panel of judges at Liverpool Football Club. The day also involved a tour of the ground and museum along with the opportunity to meet some of the reserve players.
Thirty schools or colleges took part in the competition, but only ten schools were put through to phase three. Our students faced tough competition, mostly from 6th forms and colleges, and unfortunately did not make it through to the final.
They have, however, been given an additional opportunity: if their business generates the most profit out of the remaining twenty schools by January 2012 they will be put though to the next phase. The prize is a fantastic trip to Washington DC.
