Fazakerley High School were approached by Kelly Reid from Emmanuel Church which is based on Longmoor Lane, Fazakerley. CAMEO stands for Come And Meet Each Other, it’s been running for about 5 years they meet every Wednesday between 1:00 and 3:00. This is open to anyone who would like to attend from our local community. The aim of the group is to create fellowship within the community.
Our first meeting was scheduled in May, we took our students along to Emmanuel Church where we received a warm welcome from the group. We spent the afternoon getting to know each other, shared stories and our students helped members of the group getting to grips with mobile phones.
At our next meeting it was our turn to host at Fazakerley High School. I initially met with the students and we discussed what we could do for the afternoon visit. The students met our visitors, escorted them to our school Library where they served the refreshments and spent a little time getting familiar with each other. We then had a tour of the school taking our visitors into lessons and showing them what lessons are like in the 21st century. We had an IT lesson which our students planned.
