Fazakerley High School fought back to win the game of the day in The FA 9s Year 7 League on Monday (13 February) evening at Walton Hall Park.
Goals from Noah Edmonds, Elliott Hunter and Brendan Ndiovu fired St. Hilda's into a 3-1 lead mid-way through the second half, with Jack Laffey getting his name on the scoresheet for Fazakerley.
Fazakerley hit back and made it three a piece with a second for Laffey and an equaliser from Kai Raynard.
The game was evenly poised but the momentum was with Fazakerley and with a minute to go a great move down the right led to a thunderous Jack Daley header, earning his side all three points and denying St. Hilda's a share of the spoils.
The win takes Fazakerly up to joint second whilst St. Hildas remain in 11th position.
In the day’s other game, Cardinal Heenan romped home to a comfortable 9-0 win over North Liverpool Academy. The result takes them top with maximum points.
