Health and Social Care

Year 13 Health and Social Care pupils and Year 10 pupils heard first-hand about life as a paediatrician in Liverpool recently. Marianne Allen who is currently on maternity leave visited us and brought adorable baby Edie with her.

Marianne spoke to pupils about her own background, qualifications and career route and then pupils asked questions which gave her the opportunity to talk about a wide range of topics including work hours, life and death decisions, training routes, salaries, discrimination within the workplace, coping with work pressures and the highs and lows of the job.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the session which was both informative and moving and the school would like to thank Marianne for sharing her experiences with us.
