In February, gifted and talented pupils from Science spent the day taking part in a science challenge. James from STEMpoint came into school and spent the day talking to pupils about advances in technology. Pupils then had to work together to design and build wind turbines. To do this they had to think about the costing, efficiency and production of their turbines.
Once finished, each group had to present their models which had to undergo vigorous testing. All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day. The overall winners were Cally Guido, Georgia Buckland, Abbie Kenworthy, Kiri Lamb and Alanya Herbert. These pupils were presented with prizes for their excellent work throughout the day.
