Multi-tasking Made Easy

If you have ever graced the hallowed halls that are Fazakerley High School (i.e. if you’ve visited!) since 2003, chances are you will have met the one in a million Mrs Ann Doyle. Mrs Doyle is the receptionist who meets and greets practically anyone who passes through the school’s front door. Her cheery face immediately puts people at their ease while she directs them to wherever they need to be going.

But that is not ALL Mrs Doyle does; there are many more strings to her bow! She controls the school gates and monitors who comes and goes; she answers the school phone, fielding the many enquiries we get every day and passing on messages to staff; she signs for deliveries and collects and distributes mail around the school; she is the reprographics coordinator and what she doesn’t know about temperamental photocopiers, frankly, isn’t worth knowing! Mrs Doyle is also the “voice” of the tannoy system; it is her dulcet tones we hear relaying messages to staff and students throughout the school day.

Originally from Walton, Mrs Doyle spent her formative years in Fazakerley and even attended this school. Now she lives in Aintree and when she’s not working, likes nothing better than walking or spending time with her family, especially grandsons Sean and Connor and new baby granddaughter Niamh who was born in October.

Of her work at school Mrs Doyle says she enjoys it because “It is challenging; no two days are the same and the staff and pupils are so friendly” According to her colleagues in the school office, Mrs Doyle also makes a mean cup of tea!

Multi-tasking Made Easy Reading Rocks! As we continue to develop our love and passion for reading, our pupils are starting to see the positive effects reading can have. One pupil said that because of his reading he now, “Notices more words around the school.” This is just one of the reasons reading is great -it helps you without even having to try!
