On Your Marks...

As part of the Government’s School Sport Games kite mark Robert Boardman, (School Sports Coordinator) and Diane Whittle (Head of Department) compiled the evidence of Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport that is offered to the pupils. As a result, the school was awarded gold standard; the only school in the city with this accolade.

On Wednesday the 17th of October, Fazakerley High School was presented with the award by Alan Bell who is employed by the Youth Sports Trust; Alan is the Chief Starter for the International Association of Athletic Federation. Alan has started many high profile races including 3 Olympic Games and was the starter for Usain Bolt's 100m record of 9.58 seconds.

The achievement is testimony to the time and effort the PE Department has spent developing Physical Education and School Sport. Fazakerley High School understands the importance of Physical Activity and aim to promote competition through sport in years to come.
